These past two weeks have been a whirlwind! First, as one of 15 students from the United States, I landed in Paris after a long flight only to be ushered off to Tours. I was exhausted! Over the next two weeks, we took cultural immersion program and French language classes; they were tough but I learned so much. The food has been delicious... and the bread (and croissants) to DIE for! The kids in the group have been a lot of fun, too. We're all from different parts of the States but we all get along really well. We partook in a lot of cultural activities- a guided tour of Tours, wine tasting (a first, for me), and of course, shopping. Right now in France, there are "Soldes" everywhere so it's hard to resist! Alas, time flew by.
So... after a brief two weeks in Tours I've finally headed off to Paris! I am ardently going to miss my host family; Emmanuelle and her sons (Clement, Charles, and Faisal) were so wonderful. They made my first few weeks in France so memorable. I really can't imagine having a better host family than Emma and her sons and can't wait to revisit them later this semester.
After a quick trip on the TGV, my fellow students and I arrived in Paris (a little travel worn) and took taxis to our foyers. My foyer- Foyer Protestant- is located in the 14 arrondisement (southeastern district of Paris). It's very lovely yet busy here. I don't have much else to say about Paris yet, seeing as I've just arrived but I'm sure I'll have a couple good stories soon enough. But for now, I have to say "Bonne Nuit!"
